Decline to State Voters should come home to the Republican Party

Recently there has been debate on allowing Decline to State Voters to vote on our delegates for the California Presidential Primary. Moderates and liberals in the Republican party may think this may be a better way for us to elect a pragmatic nominee for president. However the system has changed in 2008 where our delegates are awarded by congressional district. This solution seems to be the best way to make sure the Republicans who are running for president could choose the right amount of congressional districts that best fit their campaign strategies. Moderates and conservatives both benefit by having the delegates awarded by congressional districts.

However the party establishment decided to close the primary off to the Decline to State voters as where the Democratic Party welcomes them with open arms. Unfortunately voters will have to jump through more hoops if they want to vote for Ron Paul in next month’s primary election.

The Republican Party has gone a bit far beyond the mainstream of California. Voters in California identify with our governor more than the Republican leaders in the State Assembly and State Senate. If we want to control the state legislature we have to understand we have to be a bit pragmatic to help restore the California dream.

The Democratic Party knows what they need to do to be the legislative party, but the Republicans fail to understand what they need to control the legislature. If you want to bring some sunshine back into the Republican Party, re-register today and get active in the party.

I understand that the establishment does not want insurgent candidates to win the delegates in future contests, but people born in Generation X and beyond do not like partisan affiliations and would rather vote for the person not the party.

Individuals have until May 21st to get their ballots postmarked to become temporary Republicans so they can vote for Ron Paul in California’s primary election. And due to Proposition 14 you can still vote for your favorite Democratic Party candidates such as the two Democrats running for Congressional District 35 Joe Baca and Gloria Mcleod.

Unless you have a burning interest to vote for who will serve in the executive board of the county Democratic Party of where you are living, there is nothing to lose by becoming a Blue Republican. Who knows you might make the Republican Party better by staying.

Feel free to grab a second registration form so you can change back a month later.

Voters Were Defrauded on Prop 25

California voters got bamboozled thanks to a recent appeal of the decision of State Controller John Chang which withheld the pay of our state legislators for failing to submit a balanced budget on time due to the provisions of Proposition 25.

California voters may be frustrated that state budgets are never passed on time and our state budgets are always filled with bloat to be passed on to next year’s legislative session. Yes, state budgets no longer need a 2/3rds vote for passage. However the revenue gimmicks make our budgets not balanced and filled with kabuki tricks. If Democratic Party legislators want to be truly honest they should have asked voters to change the state constitution to make tax increases 50 percent plus one as well so they can legislate without Republican input.

Relying on the state legislature to determine if a budget is balanced is rather dishonest because they will say that their bloated budget filled with accounting tricks is balanced because they do not want to forsake their paychecks or want to compromise with the Republican minority to pass a truly balanced budget.

I highly recommend that voters sign the petitions asking for a part time legislature sponsored by Assemblywoman Grove because our state legislators do not deserve to be full time legislators because many of them only care about the power than the responsibilities of their job.

The Class Act Is Not Exactly FAIR

I bet the San Bernardino County Democratic Party would love to have me instead of Ray Moors in their party right now. However, I will cringe hard in either major political party. I honestly may agree with the Republicans half the time, but when it comes to civil rights issues I have to be chugging the antacid pills when I attend the meetings at the San Bernardino County Republican Party. I bet Ray is feeling like an outcast in the Democratic Party right now.

I do not feel enthusiastic in participating in my local county and state Republican parties because they do not understand how to deal with groups such as Latinos and the gays. Even though the Democratic Party does not know how to balance a budget to save their lives in Sacramento, the Republican Party alienates more voters than they attempt to reach out to in California. The Republican revolution of 2010 failed in California. If Steve Cooley only refused to defend Prop 8 and supported marijuana users we would have had our only victory.

I am writing this column today in response to a letter the San Bernardino County Republican party issued in their support of the CLASS Act to repeal SB 48.

Republicans may be concerned that teachers and students are prohibited from using examples or language that would be not be adverse about the individual being studied. However we have to be tactful about what language we use because it can affect the students because they may be part of a demographic group discussed.

Being LGBT is not like switching religions or catching the flu, either you are or you are not. Watching a KD Lang concert will not make young girls want to drive Subaru and play in softball leagues. The goal of SB 48 is to show that there are LGBT people in history and many of them did great things such as save a president’s life from assassination, help Martin Luther King in his quest for civil rights for African Americans and to help in the formation of computer science. Maybe with a more holistic presentation of history it would help make students worldlier, so we can have respect for all students no matter what group or culture they may belong to.

Ray Moors Party Switch

Our 2010 Republican Party nominee decided to jump the shark and re-register in the Democratic Party for the 2012 campaign.  However doing this at the last minute is not going to make friends. At least he should of just registered as Decline to State like what Nathan Fletcher did in his campaign for San Diego mayor.

I do recognize that the Republican Party has a bad reputation with many communities in our state and that is one reason why our candidates do not get elected in numbers to make majorities. However when you file for partisan office you should make your affiliation before you pull papers and keep it firm until the final election day of that cycle.

However, if I want a real Democratic Party legislator I would vote for Norma Torres. I do not think the Democratic Party wants another Juan Vargas or Lou Correa type legislator in their caucus in Sacramento. What will Ray Moors stand on issues such as illegal immigration and LGBT equality? Those are two big issues that groups in the Democratic Party find of interest. And if you look at his website you will find countless examples of him going against the Democratic Party orthodoxy.

And the Democratic Party helped to cause many of the economic problems in our state such as loving government employees way too much to bust the state’s pocketbook when Ray has an advertisement on his website attacking the majority party and their love of public employees, when Ray fails to realize the Democratic Party is owned by the public employees.

I am not a big fan of Ken Coble either, the only remaining Republican choice in Assembly District 52. My first choice is Ken Coble, second choice is Norma Torres if Ken Coble is eliminated in June.

I blame Abel Maldonado for making this horrific primary process called Top 2.

CISPA is heading to Congress

I wrote a new post at the Orange Juice Blog about CISPA feel free to visit them to read it.

Even Joe Baca, who represents me sponsored this piece of crap. UPDATE: Out of fairness Joe Baca voted against it. Thank You Congressman Baca.

It seems that, despite the controversy over NDAA and SOPA last year, politicians still aren’t getting it.  From the people who brought you indefinite detention, 30,000 drones flying over America by 2015 and a potential crippling of the Internet by the content creators, now comes CISPA.

CISPA stands for “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act”  – H.R 3523, written by Congressman Michael Rogers of Michigan. It is currently sponsored by over 110 congress members including several OC members – Ken Calvert, Darrel Issa and Gary Miller. The bill is designed to make sure that all of the data we send on the Internet from our instant messages and rants on Facebook gets sucked into a giant database for the benefit of the government, as a voluntary arrangement by participating companies.

CISPA was going to have a section on Intellectual Property, but due to the uproar over SOPA, the bill was re-written to address many of the opponents’ concerns.  Still, privacy advocates feel these changes are cosmetic and not substantial enough to end their opposition to the bill.

Hello new Decline To State Voters

New voter registration statistics are published early in April and it shows that voter registration is making our county quite blue indeed. Oddly decline to state did increase, but voters should recognize that they should become temporary Republicans in order to vote in the primary.

For the 4,354 new voters if you want a choice in this year’s presidential election there is still 20 days plus as of date of posting to register to vote again to become a temporary Republican.

No matter if you are wanting Ron Paul, or deciding to go out of the blue and vote for Fred Karger we would appreciate your vote in the Republican Primary.

Working Joe Violates Personal Liberty

If you are wondering who to vote for in the 35th Congressional District you may see the signs for our incumbent Congressman Joe Baca around our neighborhoods, but aside from the incumbency and symbolism of our congressman you should investigate his voting record on the issues of liberty.

I am not expecting a Ron Paul to represent our district, but I am at least hoping for a liberty loving Democratic Party congress member who may be a progressive, but at least respects our individual rights and freedoms like Jared Polis of Colorado or Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.

Joe Baca has sponsored such infamous bills such as SOPA, which leads to cripple the innovation of the Internet at the expense of the consent providers which would cripple one sector of the economy at the expense of another. NDAA is the infamous one passed last year that allows for the government to indefinitely detain American citizens even when it’s not due to armed conflict. CISPA helps to eliminate privacy rights of Internet users for the benefit of the government where the government or a private entity can get your data from website operators without a warrant in the name of cyber security.

Lastly, I could state that Congressman Baca may have redeemed himself on his NO vote to allow for 30,000 drones to invade our skies. However I recommend for the congressman to have lunch with either Jared Polis or Senator Wyden so he can be enlightened with new ideas.

Deviate from the Norm, Re-Register for Ron Paul

California is expected to have a contested primary for the office of President. Despite what Californians may have believed, the office of President is a closed primary where people who are not Republican such as Decline to State and Democratic Party cannot jump in and vote for the best choice for the Republican Party. You will need to re-register by May 21st  where it is in their hands by the county elections office so you can vote for Ron Paul in California.

For my non-Republican friends, you may think that Republicans may have cooties. However you will need to play the part to have a role in shaping America in a better place. When you go to the voter registration office or a volunteer to get your form, grab a second form so you can change back a week after Election Day.

Thanks to Top 2, you can still vote for your favorite non-Republican politicians if you live in districts such as Santa Ana’s Assembly District 69 or Pomona’s Congressional District 35. Unless you have an interest for voting for the Democratic Party executive committee, it is worth the tradeoff to become a temporary Republican which we call as Blue Republicans.

In California it is highly likely that President Obama will win California in November so you can use your vote in a very responsible and tactical way. President Obama and Governor Romney are both owned by Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street concerns. President Obama and the other three Republicans want to continue on the drug war such as the raids on marijuana dispensaries. There is a difference with Congressman Paul that leads towards to young people and other non-Republican leaning factions to support his campaign because he is an inspirational figure.

With Santorum suspending his campaign, would it be better to make sure Mittens does not get crowned as the next Republican nominee? Yes, it may be fun to see Obama film advertisements beating up on Romney on how he does not stand for the common person by how his venture capital firm ended up cannibalizing companies to make a profit and kill jobs at the same time. Instead, we should use Ron Paul’s campaign as a protest campaign to send both Obama and Romney a message. We need to advocate for economic and personal liberty, which both candidates lack fortitude to stand for both.

Write In Madness

Since I did not get any replies from the two statewide Republican groups I sent this to, I am sharing this idea on my blog.

It seems many districts in our state did not have any Republican running because Top 2 does not guarantee a seat in November for a Republican. Sad fact is over 7 districts have unopposed races and no one from the left, right and center wanted to help them get on the ballot so we can get someone in the November election.

However it might be likely we can score county party seats and state party committee seats.

It is not likely we will win a top 2 slot in most of these cases, but we can at least score delegates as class 3 Republicans according to the party bylaws.

How do we do it?

Go to your county registrar of voters from April 9th to May 22nd. Rule of the game is getting the papers as early as possible AND turn them in as early as possible.

You will need 40 genuine signatures. But it is better to get 50 to a maximum of 60.

You can get them from ANY registered voter in the district.
