Democratic Party state legislators got their priorities wrong in Sacramento. The state budget and job creation should be the ultimate priority instead of the distractions of plastic bag bans and boycotts of Arizona. While the Republican Party State Senate minority leader should get off his soapbox of banning marriage equality and get on-board on fixing the state’s budget crisis.

I would like representatives that actually are focused on the big issue that means most, the economy. I would like California to be a place where business owners want to set up shop in, not flee away from. We need fewer regulations that kill jobs in a state with one of the worst unemployment rates in the nation.

We need to promote private sector industry so they could provide the employment opportunities that will bring forth tax revenue for the public services the people in California rely upon such as education and law enforcement so we can afford to fund our budget. A true economic recovery does not exist with public sector jobs alone.

The people of our communities need to speak out to our representatives and tell them they want Senator Dutton’s private sector job creation package brought back and passed as soon as possible and no more distractions while we are late on another state budget.

It is sad when Republicans have to move to the anti-equality side in order to get elected. However if you are replacing a Democratic candidate who leans liberal for the last forty years, equality should not have to be sacrificed. I could respect Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization of Marriage since she has more consistent policy views.

For Wisconsin’s 7th district, if I ever lived there I would be happy to support the Democratic Party candidate because Sean Duffy is an opportunistic fool who turns on a dime because he only wanted political support. When I ran for State Assembly 8 years ago, people told me to move to the direction the base wanted, but if that is incompatible with your principles you should stand with your principles.

It is ironic that someone stars in a movie supporting equality in marriage, ends up standing against the issue. However maybe Sean and his wife were doing it just to pay the law school bills.

We are living in an instant news cycle where people can easily find out for themselves the real story instead of relying on political advertisements for their information. We have John and Ken with their 25 hours of week of broadcasting, there is one major lesson as reported in the Los Angeles Times as what one member of the duo stated "Don’t get into a fight with two guys who have 25 hours to fill each week."

Many of my friends and family members are disgusted by Meg Whitman and even though the idea of a third Jerry Brown term may make long time Californians sick, at least he is honest about his policies and we will not get a third term of Arnold Schwarzenegger where he had no consistent views.

Here are my ideas to keep top two.

1. Give voters a chance to have a write-in vote.

2. Use presidential elections as an indicator if a political party has popular support to be an official political party in California.

3. Truth in advertising, candidates would be required to have accurate ballot affiliation statements such as saying they are a Republican when they are really a Democratic Party member. We want voters to have accurate information about their candidates. If political candidates want to run outside the party then they could use statements like Progressive Independent or One Nation Conservative to identify their ideology.

We keep third parties alive and offer voters a choice if they do not like the top two choices in the 2012 primary.

If we fail in appealing proposition 14, we should learn to make the system hospitable for all of us.

This is the ballot measure that will lower the passage to 50%+1 for taxes and budgets in California.

I am pondering voting Yes on Proposition 25.

Voting Yes on 25 would force the Republicans to run serious campaigns in all the districts with at least 34% Republican registration, not just their safe districts.

Voting Yes on 25 will realize that Republicans will have to be more mainstream in order to get the 41 members they need to get the speakers chair or budgets passed.

Voting Yes on 25 will either prove or refute the theory that higher taxes from the Democratic Party will help or kill our economy. The thing that I probably fear is if the higher taxes from the passage of 25 happens, voters are not likely to fire the Democratic Party anyways even if unemployment went to 15 or 20 percent due to all the nanny state taxes and regulations they propose.

The debate is only going to start. Right now it has strong support.

Crossposted from iepolitics.com

Senator Dutton has written yet another eloquent column about why we should pass Republican Party budget solutions, but Democratic Party legislators want to do it their way no matter how many more Californians will become unemployed or how massive the state’s budget problems will become in future years.

Even though Republicans may have the winning issues on the state budget and law and order, our state is so gerrymandered where the Democratic Party will likely be able to pass their state budgets in a veto-resistant manner after the next two elections. The Democratic Party has State Senate District 12 and 15 in the cross hairs so they can be ready to pass budgets without Republican Party influence.

Unfortunately we will have to see California collapse before voters ever do consider the Republican Party as a viable choice, but even so there are many demographic groups who would rather vote for a dog instead of a Republican. Republicans are going to have to build a relationship with these demographic groups that Republicans used as wedge issues in order to adapt to the demographics of our state today.

Yes, it would be nice for California to live within its means. However we already maxed out our credit cards for us to do a Keynesian economic solution so we have to rely on the economic theories of Hayek. Maybe with a majority vote budget and Proposition 14 that already passed, Republicans would have to learn to develop mainstream candidates that could get elected in places such as Santa Clara, Glendale, Torrance and Ontario instead of having to rely on the fringe for popular support where they can comfortably sustain being in the perpetual minority.

I do not want California to end up like Illinois where they have gave up on paying their schools, medical providers and other agencies that rely upon state assistance. Unfortunately political power blinds both political parties where it is impossible for our legislators to come up with a solution because Republicans are zealots for no taxes at any cost and Democrats must feed the labor union beast. It is going to take sacrifice shared equally from both sides for a solution to happen.

I supported DA Cooley in the Republican Primary due to him being attacked by the Traditional Values Collation and the National Organization for Marriage, but it seems likely I should have just voted for John Eastman instead if they were basically the same in theory.

I am thinking of my encouragement to DA Cooley to drop the idea of defending Proposition 8 as a budget cutting suggestion. California has a massive budget deficit, and it would be better to outsource the defense of Proposition 8 to the Alliance Defense Fund and the proponents of Proposition 8 who brought the ballot measure to the ballot since they are much wealthier than the state where they can get money from the Catholic Church and the Latter Day Saints.

And if the new Attorney General wants to strike a new tone in politics since he is known to be a bit more centrist than the base of his party, he could end up not defending or opposing the proposition since active opposition as a Republican would make him pelted by stones by Lou Sheldon and Brian Brown.

I do appreciate DA Cooley’s opposition against Proposition 8, but sometimes as a matter of principle if a law is unjust you have to stand aside.

Organizations such as Equality California PAC might be supporting DA Harris of San Francisco because she is 100% on the issues concerning LGBT equality, but honestly Kamala Harris is mediocre when it deals with issues that do not concern LGBT individuals such as her prosecutorial record. So in November if I do decide to support a major party candidate I am going to have to figure out what would have the greater good for the people of our state.

Tom Campbell is my choice even though there are things I can seriously disagree with on all three of the nominees running this year. None of them are perfect individuals and they do have a sincere desire to make a difference for the people of our state.

California is a different state since Reagan left the White House in 1989, California is not as white as it used to be and we vote for Democrats most of the time now. Californians have not really taken kindly to anyone who is pro-life or opposes major Democratic or other progressive initiatives.

However I want to help elect someone who could reach out to dissatisfied Democrats and Decline to State voters who want a new direction for our state in a changing political climate.

If we want to get people to vote for a pro-life candidate we need to change the political climate, but I don’t expect the voters to easily turn on a dime to accomplish that feat. However if you want to help reduce abortions, we need to educate the youth.

Tom may be unorthodox, but maybe we do need someone who thinks outside the box to help us provide solutions to the problems we face in society such as health care, education and the budget deficit.

If Tom is the nominee he will need to reach out to the Israel supporters and the 2nd Amendment folk if he wants to make any headway so people do not end up abandoning him a second time.

I am afraid that people will sink Carly and Chuck much worse than Tom Campbell and that is why I am supporting Tom. I believe Tom is more electable.

We are having many contested primaries and I have received robo calls from Meg Whitman, George Runner, Sheriff Hoops and many other candidates this week and it’s becoming a distraction. Now I wonder why a friend such as Wendy Maier was advised not to purchase robo call services in her campaign for State Assembly.

I could understand why candidates purchase robo call services; it helps reach many voters for the most effective cost. However robo calls should be used sparingly, peppering people daily will only turn off potential supporters.

Since I have not done an absentee ballot, I will be pleased to support the candidates who haven’t pestered my household with robo calls this week.
