I recently bought a Micro SD card for my Blackberry, but when I got it in the mail from Newegg I was surprised at the size of the envelope used to ship the product I ordered. Websites such as the Consumerist showcase many examples of shipping waste by lazy companies from Amazon to Dell.
I did talk to a customer service representative and she said they ship in oversized envelopes to protect the product, but the product was already protected in its existing packaging, and only needed an envelope half the size to ship it. And using size 5 envelope to ship this product is a waste of money and resources when a size 1 envelope would be suitable. In this economy people want to maximize profits and the bottom line.
