Prisoners first, says Judge Henderson

We are all hurting as Americans and particularly as Californians. This challenging economy is going to make it very difficult for us to pay for the services to run the state of California. I do not envy the position of our governor and our legislators right now. Tough choices will have to be made in particular the mandate that U.S District Judge Thelton Henderson has made on our state. This judge has demanded our governor and state controller to pony up $8 billion to improve our prison health system.

Yes, we do have the responsibility to prevent unneeded death in our prisons and to make sure our prison health system does not violate the rule against cruel and unusual punishment. However Judge Henderson is going to end up giving the law abiding citizens cruel hardship as well if he requires the state to begin paying this $8 billion now. I do agree with our state Attorney General that the judge is robbing from the children, the elderly and the mentally ill. And will we need to start committing crimes to take advantage of this new improvement in prison health, since the judge is robbing money from law abiding citizens?

  1. You are forgetting, that the states neglect of prisoners & prisons, has been on going for decades~it is a necessary & correct move for Judge Henderson to make~~he gave the Gov.and legislators many opportunities to cure~they have not~the families of inmates, have been robbed over & over again, they too are taxpayers, this will impose a triple hardship for them as well~but lives will be saved, and the needless deaths of human beings, will be stopped~if the state had listened to the endless cries of families, whose loved ones have died,or of those who are dying now~~we would not be in this mess~~The attorney general is clueless,he is another one who did nothing to save lives~~inmate families have been destroyed and it continues~~Our State government has robbed us all, through deceit & trickery, continuing to ban the media,of going into prisons~~so the public will never find out the truth~~but families passion and love, brought the truth to light, and gained the attention & credibility, of the media,so its no longer one sided, underhanded information, coming only from corrupt prison administrators~~the public has the right to know, all the sides and true facts~~~

  2. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA JUSTIFIES TAKING MORE MONEY FROM OUR CHILDREN’S SCHOOLS. TO ENSURE THAT CONVICTED FELONS RECEIVE BETTER MEDICAL CARE THEN THEY WOULD ON THE STREETS.BETTER MEDICAL CARE THAN THOSE OF US WHO PAY TAXES, AND PAY DEARLY FOR MEDICAL INSURANCE.THEY GET NAME BRAND DRUGS, OUR INSURANCE COMPANIES WONT PAY FOR NAME BRAND UNLESS GENERIC IS NOT AVAILABLE.TAX PAYING SENIOR CITIZENS HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MEDICATION OR FOOD. I GUESS THEY SHOULD JUST COMMIT A FELONY AND HAVE NO WORRIES. I THINK THAT THE TAX PAYING CITIZENS SHOULD BE GIVEN ALL OF THE FACTS ABOUT WHAT OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE SPENT ON IN THE PRISON SYSTEM, AND LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE HOW MUCH TO SPEND TAKING CARE OF SOMEONE WHO VICTIMIZED SOMEONE TO GET IN THERE, AND THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWS THEM TO CONTINUE THE VICTIMIZING BY TAKING FROM THE WEAK,”OUR CHILDREN AND SENIORS”. I THINK THE SHERIFF IN ARIZONA HAS THE RIGHT IDEA ,IF SOMETHING IS OK FOR OUR NATIONS SOLDIERS IT SHOULD BE OK FOR INMATES AFTER ALL WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU HEARD A SOLDIER COMPLAIN ABOUT HIS CIVIL RIGHTS BEING VIOLATED? BECAUSE HE DOESN’T HAVE CABLE TV IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESSERT, OR HES NOT GETTING THE TYPE OF FOOD HE WOULD LIKE TO GET WHILE HES DODGING BULLETS. LETS GET OUR PRIORITY’S STRAIGHT SHALL WE ? this award winning judge should be ashamed of himself
